Yay…Midtown is getting a new and exciting restaurant walking distance from our house! I know that’s important to everyone 😊 Lyla Lila is located in the Lillie apartment building at 3rd and Peachtree just a half-block from the Fox Theater. What a treat it is!
It was somewhat of a late birthday dinner for me with friends from North Carolina (Greg and Stacy). The space is beautiful with high ceilings, tall windows at street level and an enormous horseshoe bar with GREAT service. The dining room is full of round banquettes and luxurious drapery, dampening the hum of happy diners.
We tried a LOT of dishes. Wood Grilled Lettuce, Seasonal Crudité, Chicken Liver Ravioli, Crispy Lasagna, Black Venere Rice, Red Grouper and Braised Greens.
All were exceptional. The grouper was very simple for those who prefer a less complex dish. For dessert we tried the Chocolate Boudino …OMG don’t miss it.
For wine we had a Dashe Carignan Les Enfants Terrible which was a great value. It was a nice medium bodied red with light tanins and plenty of dark fruit. It takes a moment to open so don’t let the first sip sway you from staying the course.
My personal favorite dish was the Black Venere Rice…I’ll head back soon to give it a try!
